I've been in chicago now since late sunday and tomorrow we go to st josephs to relax on the beach for a few days. then it's toronto, plattsburgh, montreal, niagara falls, and back! pittsburgh on the way home too, go pittsburgh!
it's really nice to be able to relax and focus on nothing in particular. thank god for being a teacher and having a summer vacation.
not much to write about tonight... i'm tired and now i'm thinking about all the things i should be thinking about besides the nothing that i am thinking about. hasta pasta... on the road tomorrow!!

mighty mighty pittsburgh
I'm really lucky to live where I do.... such an interesting part of the country... so many things to do and places to see.
Got a haircut too. People at school really seemed to like it, so I guess it's cool... shorter than usual.
I cut my cable back to basic cable to save money and try to better myself. Basically just means I'm watching more DVDs. Anyways, everything is basically the same as ever... work work work, we have a delay tomorrow, meeting, and then I have to find time to observe the middle school Spanish teacher... and go to the doctor...... and get my car looked at...... and pack..... by next Thursday. gah!

bells bells bells bells bells bells bells
Today it is 74 degrees and I went walking through Frostburg for a little while after school. It's a really beautiful day. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 40 degrees. FML.
We have some wonderful bells here on Main Street... and it also smells like someone is cooking something AMAZING as I sit on my couch with the windows open wide. mmmm. probably my neighbors.. they always make the best smelling food. jealous.
Two more days this week (boys basketball will be out Friday... it's funny how just having a few people missing from a class completely changes the dynamic)... half day next Friday.. going to see Janelle in Pittsburgh next weekend... happy.com

drip drip drop
i'm at natalie's, it's been raining pretty bad this weekend. i reckon i'm the only one awake right now, once they get up i'll have breakfast then drive back to mom's, do a little shopping, then leave. i want to get more flash cards from barnes and noble... assuming they have a spanish kids section.. the one in salisbury did... and stock up on some healthy goodness from trader joes.
yesterday we played risk--I WON-- and trivial pursuit ...i lost... but it was fun. trivial pursuit is darn difficult though. i dominated the western hemisphere in risk, though. then we played rockband and went to bed! i'm glad i was able to come down here this weekend... i was way jealous of all the frostburg students who just started their spring breaks this weekend.
26 dias hasta mexico!!!! sooo excited!
so i have this week of school--monday no 8th period, honors convocation, end of the week is ACIT basketball tournament so lots of people will be out on friday, then next week of school, friday is a half day, then the following week of school, which is just normal, then the next week i go monday through wednesday, thursday is a half day, then i'm driving to dc and getting up on friday to go to PV!!!!!!!!! i love just seeing it all written out like that... ahhh..... pv...... mmm.......

saturday

went to lunch and shopping around downtown cumberland today. this shirt is amaaaazing!! i got it at a bookstore downtown with all these old books. i LOVE old books. i got "How people live in the USSR" and a 2nd grade Costa Rica school book in espanol.
i have a cold and am just trying to relax this weekend and think about things. it is BEAUTIFUL outside which is wonderful. i am so happy i've finally started using skype-- i've talked to all my mexico people this week and am soo happy to hear their voices and see their faces. they make me happy.
i also found out that i can teach a summer spanish class at BW if i want. it will be 3 weeks and i could probably earn upwards of 1,000 bones for the work. i'm seriously considering it.
5 weeks till mexico, going home next weekend, spring is coming soon, lots to look forward to.

Funniest thing I've heard in a long time.
Crappy week is currently half over and I think I'm getting a cold. die twice.

bienvenida a tijuana
This is on my walk to my car every morning, so I'm always very well informed of the temperature in Frostburg at 7:15 am. What a wonderful life I lead.
Today is Ash Wednesday and we had a very nice prayer ceremony at school. Working at my school makes me think about religion more than I'm used to, which is a good thing. So for Lent I am limiting myself to two hours of TV a night. I'm going to try to read more ( and honestly I will try to read a little bit of the Bible I got when I was 10 and have never cracked the cover of. )
I have been able to talk to Lauren online a few times this week which is great I cannot wait to go to PV to see them. They are some of the best friends I've ever had.
I think the awful school lunch I had today made me boring. I'll do better next time.

it hardly matters
I live above the Palace Theater right in the heart of Frostburg. I love where I live.
Today was more of the same. Things with Clint are rockier than usual, but at least Olivia and I are getting back together.
I talked to Lauren online which made me very happy, and I took a very cold walk around my neighborhood.
Every morning there is weather I walk to my computer saying "I would pay a million dollars for a two hour delay." I bet the school board could make some sweet dolla-dolla bills if they took bribes for school cancellations and delays.
Top Chef- I love Carla and I hope she wins big time. Stefan sucks.

en este mundo hay mucho confusion...
Spent last night getting margaritas and playing scrabble and catchphrase with tyler. sad he's moving, we're on the same wavelength which makes me happy. some gems from the scrabble game: pud, pud, qutoad, zen, toenail, uvegd, oxe, and feren.
there was a bomb threat at my school so about 40% of the students were there friday. waste of a day if you ask me, but it was relaxing to spend 2 periods playing volleyball with the highschoolers.
other than that, life has been going on as usual. it feels good that i'm closer to the end of the school year than the beginning.
i'm trying to get in shape and stop being such a fatty manatty. i'm eating better and working out as often as possible.
real housewives of nyc.... alex and simon's kids are awful.

i've got this feeling that i've been here before
I graduated from Frostburg in May with my degree in history. Rather than going to Momma's to work at some restaurant before going to Mexico in August as per the plan, I decided to stay in Frostburg to stay with good ole Clint. We have been dating since April and as of... May I was not ready to turn that relationship into a long distance one. So I worked at a restaurant in Frostburg with some really great people. Getting into July I started thinking about what I'd like to be doing. The arguments were either go to Mexico, leave Clint, drain my savings, but live with two of my best friends who make me love life OR find a job around Frostburg, get a little experience and stay with Clinton. So I kept my eye on the papers looking for a job, and if I happened to find one and get hired, then that was it, Mexico off, Frostburg on. Lo and behold, "HS Spanish and Math teachers needed. Send resume to..." Long story short, I got the job at Bishop Walsh School, a PreK-12 Catholic school on a hill in Cumberland, MD, and Mexico was offsies. Wah wah.
So here I am, teaching Spanish (and one history class) at BW and being a grown up. I have a wonderful apartment in Frostburg and a few wonderful new friends and my Clint. That's pretty much it for the logistics of my life, can be summed up in two sentences.
Right now I am anxiously anticipating a recently planned trip to Mexico over Easter break and watching "That Thing You Do" on tv.
I will post more about a super top secret subject tomorrow once it is released to the public.
